TWILIGHT

*WARNING: IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOKS OR SEEN THE MOVIE, DON'T READ THIS. IT'S A SPOILER*
Judging by the title of this blog post you probably thought, "Oh no, another person obsessed with those stupid vampire books." In which case, you are definitely right. I've been reading these books for a little over a year and I adore them. This is why I was literally counting down the days till the movie premiere. November 20th, 2008 comes along and it is the midnight premiere, which of course I couldn't go to because I had to study for a huge test. The anticipated wait was over. November 21st. I checked my calender multiple times to see if I was dreaming and I wasn't, the day was finally here. I arrived at the theater with a group of eight friends and we literally were freaking out. EDWARD CULLEN. EDWARD CULLEN. Too many young pre-teens were there but surprisingly, made us want to get into it even more. The minute Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, stepped on the screen about the whole theater screamed. Myself being only human, screamed as well. In my opinion, the movie lacked certain qualities that I imagined in my mind. For instance, the scene where Edward brings Bella to their meadow and he sparkles, just wasn't right to me. It was not how I imagined it. They left out parts of the book as well, such as the scene where Emmett says to Edward, "This is wrong Edward, she's not one of us." There was just minor parts that I picked at because I've memorized the story practically. Also, I think they could have chosen better actors and actresses. I thought that Isabella "Bella" Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, was too plain. I know Bella is supposed to be normal and boring but the way she played her character, honestly almost put me to sleep. I adore Robert Pattinson but he had his flat moments as well. Now for the positive parts, I thought the fight scene was really cool. It was just how I pictured it. Although everything looked fake, such as Edward swooping down and knocking into James, it was great to see my imagination come onto the screen. I give kudos to Stephanie Meyer's writing ability because most of the characters (Edward, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, Esme, Carlisle and Jacob) were exactly how I pictured them in the book. Her detailed work really tells you how good she is at writing. And then there's the people who say Twilight sucks. All men mostly. I love how they can just say Twilight sucks without reading the books or really understanding what happens, meanwhile they play their stupid video games and we don't make fun of them for it. Gah. That's one of my pet peeves. Anyways, I really enjoyed this movie and even though I've already seen it, I'm going again on Friday with my boyfriend and two friends. I can't wait till this comes out on DVD! (I heard they're already writing the script of Eclipse so New Moon's script is done and they're starting to make it!)

"The forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest."
"When you can live forever, what do you live for?"
"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb. What a silly lamb. What a sick, masochistic lion."
"What if I'm not the hero, what if I am the bad guy?"
