The Confusing, Yet Satisfying Sestina

Life is foretold through a lonely window,

And sometimes it is heaven, sometimes it is hell.

And sometimes the dinner

Is burnt and made by lazy

Mothers that sometimes think the tree

Is falling and needs to be held up by chains.

I need these chains

To hold up my life told through a lonely window

And for my family tree,

Let’s just say that the people in it are hell

People are lazy

Or sometimes eat too fast when eating their dinner.

And sometimes my dinner

Tastes like I’m eating raw metal chains

And I get lazy

Just like every other human being looking out a window

Sometimes I need those small little hell-

Os to stronger my tree.

Wouldn’t the world be simpler if we were all tree

Huggers that make green plated dinners

And that think the world is going down to hell

They are the ones who stand in front of the chain

Saws instead of the people who window

Shop. Instead of trying to change the world, they are lazy.

And isn’t it funny how lazy

Everyone has gotten? Just sleeping in a tree

And staring out a window

their whole lives and making bad dinners

One lazy event causes a chain

Reaction, and before you know it, the world will be going to hell.

And really, what is with all this hell-

ish behavior that lazy

bones have? And with all those chain

smokers, don’t they see that it is as harmful as an axe to a tree?

Instead of being cheerful and social and holding dinner

parties, adults play video games and are lazy.

Would you stand in front of a chain saw to protect a tree?

Would you want to be lazy and make people raise hell’s bells?

You can’t just look out a window your entire life and expect your dinner to always taste good.
