Ciao. Alright, well for some odd reason, physical therapy put me in a free-writing mood. Go figure So bare with me while I rant for a bit.
Areas of Focus:
Music
High School Drama
Alright, since I go on Facebook like its an unbreakable addiction, I've noticed everyone's status' and laughed quite a bit. Silly teenagers. Yes, I know I am a teenager but I feel that I am a bit more...direct minded and undramatic than most of the sophomores I know. Like for instance, high school relationships. It annoys me to no end when I hear someone saying "omg, me and (insert boyfriend's name here) are going to last forever!" and yada yada yada. That's great and all but in reality, most of us aren't mature enough to even be in a relationship. We're all about 15 or 16. What do we know about relationships? Nothing, exactly. There is so much drama involved in that area, I tend to stay out of it.
I was typing another topic down but I'm afraid if I talk about the PV Theatre Productions (have I said too much?), a swarm of actors will come and kill me...maybe another time.
Music. Favorite topic, no doubt. I can't even begin to describe the feelings I get when listening to it. I know exactly when I've found a good song because I'll grab one of my guitars and start looking for the chords. And there is probably not a feeling better in the world than being front row, so close to your favorite band and hearing and seeing them play right before you. It's a rush, my heart starts racing and it doesn't stop for any stop signs. Wow. Obviously, I've gone on a pretty large rant already so I'll narrow down the music section a bit.
I just want to talk about one band right now and that band's name is Fightstar. I've grown to love them for about a year or two and I can't begin to describe what I like about them. They are consisted of Charlie Simpson (lungs/guitar) , Alex Westaway (lungs/guitar), Dan Haigh (backing vocals/bass), and Omar Abidi (wicked drummer). Here's the small scoop on them. They formed in 2003 after Charlie Simpson split from the British boyband by the name of Busted. Busted was made up of 3 members: Charlie Simpson, James Bourne and Matt Willis. Oh and by the way, BUSTED WAS THE BAND WHO WROTE THE ORIGINAL "YEAR 3000" AND "WHAT I GO TO SCHOOL FOR", NOT THE JONAS BROTHERS. (ek, jonas...) The band split up because Charlie was too "hardcore" for a boyband. Long story short, James went to Son of Dork (which split up), Matt went to work on his solo career and Charlie went to Fightstar.
Now apparently, the after effects of being in a boyband is turning "emo." In Fightstar, Charlie sings his heart out with this deep voice that is intriguing for most of a song and then belts out his screams. Alex's vocals are smooth and well...British. Dan's bass playing is always wicked and Omar is very consistant with his drum beats and plays with as much grace as a drummer can.
Sorry again, ranting. I needed a place to write and I figured "hey why not write on my blog?" because that's how much I need to get out of the house.
By Fightstar, there are a few songs that I really like.
So to all those people who look for new music often, here you go (all Fightstar):
The English Way
Hazy Eyes
Floods
Paint Your Target
Deathcar (more screamo)
I Am The Message
Colours Bleed
We Apologize For Nothing
^ get it? got it? good.
Hm. well, I had more things to say but I'll leave it at...(you amaze me. wrong band. The Maine song reference) I'll leave it at this.
Check them out, they are good (in my opinion). But why does my opinion matter? It doesn't, exactly. Go make your own judgements. You ALL know how to use youtube.
Oh, and I recommend the "Paint Your Target" video. It was banned in England and the US for a while because it depicted children shooting each other. Well worth the listen. And if you are a piano lover, check out "Floods" - it has an interesting video.
And cheers to everyone who took the time and read this!
You deserve a cookie.
